OKI partner reveals optimisation potential and optimises the printer landscape of a Northern Germany private school
THE CHALLENGE
Louisenlund’s printer landscape was un-homogenised using over 50 printing systems from eleven different manufacturers. The mixed printer landscape was historically grown and caused disproportionately high consumable, maintenance and administration costs. “At first glance a low purchase price of an individual device may seem favourable, however this is frequently misleading as subsequent running costs can be high.
In many economically oriented organisations there are substantial potential savings to be had by making relatively simple changes”, explains Edo Neumann, senior sales manager of OKI Printing Solutions.
THE SOLUTION
OKI partner, Deutsche Telekom AG, had for many years advised Louisenlund on their hardware and software queries, and in 2009 made the school aware of the possible savings available to them and recommended a consolidation of their printer landscape together with OKI. “We reduced the number of redundant devices by replacing fax machines and copiers with multifunctional colour LED printers from OKI Printing Solutions. Louisenlund now not only save money, but their whole print operation is simplified. Wherever you are in the building the devices are from the same manufacturer with uniform
controls making them easier to use”, explains Andreas Bonkat, Sales Director of Deutsche Telekom AG.
THE RESULTS
With the help of Deutsche Telekom AG, Louisenlund today profits from both the high quality and reliability of 37 OKI LED printer devices, as well as profiting from the automated consumables procurement system and next day on-site service. “Each month we save a few hundred euros, any supplies of toners are automatic reordered when empty and any problems which have arisen with the devices are repaired within 24 hours”, says Rainer Rüngeler, commercial leader of Louisenlund. “From the restructuring of our printer landscape using the OKI Print Optimizer solution we profit in every regard”.
Today all teachers and pupils only use OKI printer devices, generating a saving for the private school of 13.3 per cent of printing costs compared to before.
