Why is my paper not feeding from the C5000 Multi-Purpose Tray?

Ensure that the following procedure has been followed concerning positioning of media in the multi-purpose tray. It is assumed that the multi-purpose tray has been opened successfully as detailed in the diagram.
1. Gently press down the PAPER PLATFORM ensuring that it is locked into position.
2. Load the media and ensure the PAPER GUIDES
are positioned to the size of the media being used.
Do not exceed the paper capacity of the mutli-purpose tray :
[50 sheets or 10 envelopes] & [maximum stacking depth =
10mm]
3. Press the blue TRAY LATCH BUTTON inwards to release the PAPER PLATFORM upwards so that the paper is lifted and gripped in place.
After completion of these three steps, it should now be possible to feed media from the multi-purpose tray.
