Why does printing stop when my consumables reach end of life?
23/01/2006
In order to ensure that print quality is unaffected and to avoid damage to your Oki Printing Solutions printer, the product will stop producing printed copies once a consumable should be replaced.
If you wish to continue printing then you will be able to do this for a short period of time by opening and then closing the lid of the printer.
If the lid is opened and closed on the product then the number of pages printed before the unit will stop again are as follows:
Toner life (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta or Black): 50 sheets of media
simplex or 25 sheets of media duplex based on an A4 sheet with 5%
toner coverage.
Image Drum life (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta or Black): 500 sheets of
media simplex or 250 sheets of media duplex based on an A4 sheet
with 5% toner coverage.
Please be aware of the following points:
- If drum and toner life appear at the same time then the printer will stop at the interval defined for toner life although the Operation Panel on the printer may not make this clear.
- If one of the colour image drums or toner cartridges reaches life then monochrome only printing will still be interupted.
- The 50 or 500 sheet intervals may be reduced depending on toner
coverage.
